Which is the most popular font?

We offer a choice of engraving fonts to include a range of styles. All of thee fonts will engrave nicely and most importantly, they will be readable.  The Arial font is the plainest font and the least popular. Century is engraved with an italic slant and has a stylish appearance engraved on any product. Lucida Calligraphy and Monotype Corsiva both belong to the Script family of fonts, both offer a nice text flow with a hint of flourish. Lucida is the most commonly requested font. The Nyala font is another fairly plain font but with a more rounded style than Arial.   

To choose a font, simply click the small arrow associated with the Choose Engraving Font text box. If you have a specific font that's associated with your business, we may be able to engrave that font provided it is readily available to us. If you call us, we'd be happy to discuss the options and advise.

How much text can you engrave on a product?

The number of characters and lines of text which can be engraved on each product largely depends on the size of the product and the available area that can be engraved.  Some products such as cut crystal glassware may have a design cut into the glass which limits the space available to be engraved.

For each personalised product we provide text boxes for you to enter your engraving text. Each text box will allow you to enter characters up to the maximum allowable for the text box. Depending on the glassware design, each line of text may have a different character limit. Don't forget that a space between words is a character. The number of characters remaining is updated as you type your engraved message.

Can I add an emoji or other special characters?

Emojis and special charcters MUST NOT be input into the text boxes as these cannot be engraved and will automatically be omitted by our engraving software. Although your mobile device may allow you to input such characters, don't assume that is a confirmation that we are able to engrave the characters.  

Can you engrave text in different languages?

Yes and No ... We can engrave text in many languages. However, we always advise that you check your order confirmation email immediately to ensure that any non-native English characters, particularly those with accents have been recognised correctly. Each font offers many variations within its character set, however some fonts may not support all non-native characters that you may require. If your own keyboard or mobile device is not set to the English language keyboard, our engraving software might not recognise every character. How quickly will my order be engraved?

Depending on our daily workload and product type being engraved when your order is confirmed, it is possible that your glassware will be engraved within minutes of ius receiving your order. If you need to make any amendment to your order, please notify us immediately by email (info@forevercrystal.co.uk) or speak with us directly on 01773 820287. Don't assume that your order won't be engraved immediately if you didn't request a fast delivery.

Can I specify the colour of the engraving?

No, the colour of the engraving always reflects the colour of the natural base material. In the case of glassware, the appearance of engraved text or a logo will be light grey. There may be some slight variation in the shade of grey depending on the engraving process used and the type of glassware being engraved, e.g. lead crystal or soda glass. 

How to write a simple personalised message for engraving?

Customers often ask us what to engrave on a decanter or other glassware gift to commemorate some special event such as a wedding, retirement or birthday. The best advice we can give is KEEP IT SIMPLE. Generally we're able to offer you 4-6 lines of engraving and we find that the following structure usually works well.

Can you engrave a logo or crest?

Most logos and crests will engrave successfully onto glassware, slate or wood. We engrave many military, emergency service, business, corporate and sports logos and crests on all types of glassware. 

If I upload a logo, wil I still receive delivery tomorrow?

Good question! In most cases provided we receive your order before the cut-off time, if you've selected Next Day delivery, your glasware will be engraved including text and logo, and delivered to you the following day (Mon-Friday). The most common cause of a dispatch delay is the poor quality of the logo or crest uploaded. If the image lack pixels (detail), then we may not be able to achieve the engraved quality outcome that we require. We would then need to contact the customer and request a higher resolution image.
